And they’re off…!!!

Come on out for some Derby Day fun. Wear your fancy hat (there WILL be a best hat contest), sip mint juleps, place some mild wagers* and hope your horse wins! Chef Kayleigh will whip up some Derby Day specials and, of course, Mint Juleps will be available!

The event will take place in the bar and lounge, with TVs tuned to watch the race.

PS: stay for dinner and enjoy live music by Jeff Madson in the dining room.

• At our fun “betting” on Derby Day at the Club, we don’t get into odds making.  Our bets are on the winner and it’s lottery style.  The names and numbers of the horses are in the pot.  If you choose to be (it’s not required), you draw a slip from the hat for a $2 bet ($2 bill optional).  If your horse scratches at the last minute, you get your money back.  If there are more betters than horses, we have a second or third round of the available numbers.  The winner(s) get the pot.

• Betting at ESYCC on the Exacta and Trifecta is, equally, just for fun.  But it does require a bit more expertise or adventure.  You may like the jockey’s colors, the horses colors (some folks like or hate grays), the longshot, the favorite, the horses names….If there is an Exacta or Trifecta winner, they get the pot bet in that fashion.  If there is no winner, the house wins.
