FEATURED MANAGEMENT POSITION: PRO SHOP MANAGER

The Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club Pro Shop Manager will be responsible for the efficient operation of the pro shop, ensuring it is well-stocked, organized, and delivers exceptional customer service. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the overall golf experience for our members and guests.

Responsibilities:

Pro Shop Management: Oversee the daily operations of the pro shop, including opening and closing procedures.
Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of golf merchandise, apparel, and equipment.
Implement effective visual merchandising strategies to enhance product presentation.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure high-quality golf merchandise.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
Assist customers with product selection, fitting, and purchase recommendations.
Schedule and manage tee times and golf lessons efficiently.

Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise pro shop staff, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer service.
Create staff schedules and manage employee performance.
Foster a positive and motivated work environment.

Financial Management: Monitor and manage pro shop sales and expenses, ensuring financial stablity.
Prepare and analyze financial reports to track sales trends and inventory turnover.
Implement pricing strategies and promotions to maximize revenue.

Golf Event Support: Coordinate with the golf committee to ensure seamless execution of tournaments and outings.
Assist in organizing and facilitating club events and member activities.
Manage the rental of golf carts and other equipment for events.

Maintenance and Equipment: Oversee the maintenance and care of golf carts, range equipment, and pro shop facilities.
Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure proper course presentation.
Perform routine inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf pro shop management or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and industry trends.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.

  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.

  • Knowledge of golf rules and etiquette (preferred).

  • PGA or other relevant certifications (preferred).
