March Wine Club Selections

  1. Little James Basket Press White 2021- Vin de Pays, France $12.99 ($11.49 case)

Sauvignon Blanc brings acidity to the blend while Viognier provides fleshiness and attractive notes of stone fruit and flowers. Blending the two varieties results in an aromatic and fresh-tasting wine with aromas and flavors of peach blossoms, fennel, apricots, grapefruit, lychee fruit, and mangos.

  2. Catena “White Clay” Semillon/Chenin Blanc 2020- Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina $16.99

Rated 92 by James Suckling. Peach-skin, apricot, dried-lime and flint aromas. It’s medium-to full-bodied with sharp acidity that cuts through creamy layers of ripe fruit. Intense, mineral and smoky finish. Semillon and chenin.

  3. Cantele Rosato 2020- Puglia, Italy $11.49 (Sale $8.49)

On the nose, essence of geranium and rose combined with strawberry and cherry. Sweet and nuanced on the nose, with noteworthy tenacity. The wine’s impressive alcohol is balanced by its delicate flavors and light, bright freshness, elegance, and persistence.

  4. Wild Hills Pinot Noir 2019- Willamette Valley, Oregon $12.79

Medium ruby color. Red cherry, red licorice, vanilla, violet, and black plum nose. Dry. High tannins. High acidity. Red cherry, black cherry, leather, bramble, and blackberry.

  5. Catena Paraje Altamira Malbec 2019- Mendoza, Argentina $17.49

Rated 93 by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Following the path of the 2018, the 2019 Appellation Paraje Altamira Malbec is phenomenal. It shows freshness, elegance, balance, complexity and nuance as well. It's seamless, precise and ethereal with lots of inner energy and light. As the 2018 was, it's expressive and floral, varietal and with the full chalky texture that is a distinct characteristic of Altamira. It's tasty, the tannins are polished and there is an almost salty sensation in the finish.
